RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.

so if i click the RSS link i get updates via.. what?
I still have to visit their site for the new content dont i?

I believe all the RSS feed does is inform you that the site has been updated, and the area that was updated. If you want to see the update, you have to visit the site or click a link to the updated material that some RSS feeds have.
