Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, whose outspoken libertarian views and folksy style made him a cult hero during two previous presidential campaigns, will announce on Tuesday that he's going to try a third time.

Sources close to Paul, who is in his 12th term in the House, said he will unveil an exploratory presidential committee, a key step in gearing up for a White House race. He will also unveil the campaign’s leadership team in Iowa, where the first votes of the presidential election will be cast in caucuses next year.

I can get behind Ron Paul. Sure he's a politician, and I don't trust any of them by default, but he has potential.

The other candidate that I'm interested in is Gary Johnson. I don't know a lot about him yet, but he sounds promising.

I wish Ron Paul had even an ounce of charisma

He could wind hands down

But he does not

Maybe the best us libertarians can hope for is things to settle down a tad and buy time for his son 4 years later

It is sickening that charisma has any part of it but tv has demanded it. Otherwise Kennedy would have lost.

I frankly don't care a whole lot in many respects as long as congress stays split. I never want to see one party have control of all three levels again

I would almost say anyone but Obama...but I'm sure there are even worse than him (and no I don't mean Bush before THAT even starts). I would vote for Ron Paul.....

It would be telling as hell if he were to actually win and then also do an about-face.

In fact, Ron is the only politician I have heard publicly say it was possible to be assimilated into the sold-out mess it has all become.

Yep, telling indeed.

Ron or Rand have as much chance as Ru Paul has of being president.

Ron doesn't have charisma and Rand is a nut job. At least Ru Paul has fashion sense and a flare for theatrics. :24:
