me, my brother, and some of our best friends are going from atlantic ocean (pretty much where we live) to pacific this summer, and all in between. Its gonna be awesome. Any pointers on where to go?>
Which way are you taking? Are you going to do the 40 all the way across? Lots of cool stuff to see. Do the Grand Canyon and Painted Desert for sure, no matter which way you go. Come see us in San Diego, because it's pretty bad ass here too. Do Oklahoma City, do St. Louis, When you get out west, do LA, San Diego, and San Francisco if you can. Utah is pretty nice, but it takes so much time, I doubt you'll be able to do much there. If you make your way to Northern Cali, do Yosemite and the Redwoods. :rock If you take a southernly route, do Las Vegas for sure. Even if it's only for one day. Look for the Days Inn right off the strip by the Maxim building. It's kind of a hole, but it's cheap, and 1 block from the new strip.
It's a great country man. Live it up!!
Are you going to be in So. Cal, or up in the Northwest?
Stop by Memphis and the famous Beale Street - Ranked second behind Bourbon Street by "Insomniac", Dave Atell from comedy central. Get some barbeque while you are here.
i think we are going to take a southernly route there, and take i40 for a fast trip back. i know we plan to go to (brownsville tx, tijuans, some place in mexico, visit some old friends in alabama, so cal, and anything that looks interesting on the way. lots more places to go, just dont where we plan to go yet. any ideas on how long it would take? were guessing about 2 and a half weeks. not sure though.
a couple of my friends did that after highschool, i dot think they made it all the way out west, but they traveled for a couple weeks. Live in their car most of the time.
i actually think memphis will be our first stop......hang around there for a day, then go strait down to alabama. then to texas/mexico to deliver some stuff . we plan to be livin in an RV most of the time.
With an RV it won't be so bad. You can do the trip in a few weeks, as long as you're religious about keeping one person behind the wheel whenever you're done with a city.
There is so much to do, I would HIGHLY recomend you plan out your trip before you head out. Count your money, calculate fuel costs, food costs, etc.... Have everybody build a list together of "Must Do" items, and then look into what else you can find in between.
You'll be glad you were smart about it for the rest of your life mate. You'll see twice as much in half the time.
Have fun on your trip. Take a lot of pictures, and make sure you get at least 1 shotglass from every state you visit!!!!
I'm jealous. LOL Now I want to hit the road for a few weeks. Getting my pilots license over the next 3 months though, so hopefully that will help! :bannana
