I dunno why, but ever since like...Jan-Feb-ish, my resting heart rate has been a lot higher than normal. Like in the high 80s, mid 90s. Right now I am sitting at 92 beats per minute, and I'm laying on my bed...I'm wondering if any of you medical people can tell me something about this...is it a sign of a higher metabolism? Or stress? Or a health issue maybe I don't know about? I would appreciate any input! thanks!

thats odd clare. Usually the better shape you get in the lower your heart rate gets. 90's seems very high. I have an abnormally low heart reate. It usually is in the very low 40's.

my normal is usually about 70. It could very well be stress related...I have been a very busy person for the past 3 months and now that things are finally slowing down, money issues have me upset. It's always somehting! Well and of course the pressure put on me from single handedly organizing a wedding too.

Could be a lot of stuff, have you had your blood pressure tested? Could the lack of nicotene be causing any of these effects? (just something to ask your doctor if you go see one).

yeah someone told me quitting smoking raises BP. So that could be it..but it's been like 3 weeks since I had a cig. And that was only 1 cig...probably 5 or 6 weeks altogether since I've quit smoking. My trainer is convinced it's stress...but..yeah I'm not ALWAYS stressed out?? i think? i dunno. OK maybe I'm always stressed to some degree. but yeah i dunno.

Here's the fun part about nicotene. after quitting if you take one drag off a cig, your brain will remember how much nicotene it needed while you smoked and will revert you straight back into the cravings and need that you used to have. That nicotene craving will always stay with you, and it'll take a long time for your body to get used to not having it.

hmm. well i havent had any problems or cravings? i dunno. I was drunk, i had a cig...i didnt want another. I haven't even been on the commit losanges for about 2 weeks. I switched to regular mints, they taste better and are much much cheaper!

Mine is normally between 56 and 60 bpm. But I run... a lot. I think you should get it checked out just to be on the safe side. It could be from your having quit smoking, but it is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your health.
