UNION, Mo. (AP) - She's safe and sound. A missing newborn Missouri girl who was abducted from her mother has been found alive and is now in a hospital. A hospital official says she appears to be well.
Bill Miller Senior, publisher of the Washington Missourian and also a member of the board of directors at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, says family members are gathered with eleven-day-old Abigale Lynn Woods.
St. Louis television station KSDK is reporting the baby was found not far from her home in Londell. The Franklin County sheriff told the station that the baby was found in an abandoned house and that a woman has been arrested. The child's mother told police Friday that a woman entered her rural home, attacked her with a knife and stole the baby, who was a week old at the time.
