I know folks who feel the need to turn everything into a debate. They're my friend but shut the fuck up for once. I may agree with some points but it becomes annoying.

Nature of the beast. With debates the fact is neither point can be proven as absolute fact, it's merely someone's opinion/belief therefore people will disagree because no side can be 100% categorically correct. I tend to stay out of religious debates because it just goes round and round in circles and it's the hardest debate to win because you never really do.

In your opinion but some people like discussing and debating religion and after all the Religion section is in the debate forum
You find debate to be annoying and that's okay. But I can't help but wonder, why do you read the debate section? I suppose I would find the inspirational section to be annoying. That's why I don't read it.
I disagree. Debates on any subject help you focus your thoughts, consider new ideas, reconsider old ideas, and reevaluate your dogma. They do in many cases waste a lot of time.

Not a lot really. My nan and granddad used to argue like bastards and when we told them off for it my nan used to say "we're not arguing, I'm talking loudly to emphasise a point" :24::surrender
I beleive these threads are very useful. I have really strengthend my faith in them by thinking through exactly what I do believe.

... and just what the fuck do you believe in, fella? .. Isnt debate/discussion what forums are about? or did I miss something .. If religious debates are useless, why have anything to do with them??

Dana doesn't actually participate in religious debates. He just pokes his head into the debate section every once in awhile to tell everyone debates are useless. So stop telling others what to believe. Which is kind of ironic when you think about.
