that is offensive regardless of political opinion - personally (while they dont necessarily bother me) and clothing that has profanity on it is not appropriate to where in a public place, especially where children are present. it has nothing to do with the faces on the shirt. and everyone saying its 'free speech' is bull too, since free speech is a privelege, not a right. yes, you have the right to speak your mind, but if dont other people have the right not to be offended? and if the majority of people would be offended, its the offenders duty to stop talking (not the duty of the offedned to stop listening).

bottom line, theres no reason to havd a shirt like that. you cannot deny that if a manhattan citybus had a curse word on the side of it as an advert, they would be forced to remove it in a second - and that is no different than prohibiting a foul shirt.

(and keep in mind, the only reason im siding with the airline here is based on the premise that the rules are actually clearly explained to the passenger prior to boarding etc.. meaning, if she knew offensive clothing was not allowed, she got was was coming to her. if she didnt know, then regardless, she shold have had to change it, since a rule is a rule and she should cooperate with it. i have a right (same as anyone here) to kick someone out of my house, why cant the airline do the same?)

but see, not everyone has the privlege of using your house, and thats why you have the right to kick anyone out.

how is it the opposite? if the plane in considered "public" then the rules should be such that as many people as possible are comfortable. if one person makes 10 people uncomfortable, who is at fault?

hehe thats funny, i wonder how many fights would break out on that flight...

i dont think its so hard necessarily, some people just need to get over having 'cool' shirts and whatnot that they think 'says something', when really most of the time they just want attention. there are ways to say most anything without offending someone (keep in mind not everything, but most)
