It's been a few months now but the only movie rental chain in our town closed and now we get our movies from Red Box. I guess it has its advantages and disadvantages.

Same thing happened in my town. The old video rental places closed and the only one left is Blockbuster.

I personally use Netflix. Redbox seems neat but the choices are limited, and unlike Netfix, you have to physically take the dvd back.

yeah EVERY video store has closed down here. Blockbuster, Hollywood Movie. only ones i know who have managed to stay open are the little non trademarked brands stores. the ones that people open up under their own name. around here its nothing but RedBox. Id love to get NetFlix but DH doesnt see the point in $9 a month cause HE doesnt watch movies, despite the fact that IM the one who likes to watch them!

i miss the good video store! redbox doesnt have THAT good of a selection. i mean, its all the newest movies. you cant find any of the old ones like you'd be able to at a video store! kwim

If I want to watch a film, even ones that are out at the cinema, I watch online. It's a matter of knowing where to go.

If it's new and I want to watch it I use our digital cable and order that way... It's viewable for 24hrs.

If it's older and I want to watch it.. I go to Best Buy, Walmart or the like and buy it.. If I can't find it that way I order it on Amazon.

I rarely rent movies anymore.. when most of them are under 10bucks to buy. Unless it a new release.

In NY i used to get new releases from the Chinese people for $5 for one or 5 for $20. But I love netflix and have been with them for almost 2 years now. They are so fast at shipping them to you and I watch them streamed online on their site. Can't beat that if you're going to rent.
