The ones like The Amazing Race and Survivor I can take. But nonsense shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians can go. They're all scripted anyway.

I have to put my hands up and say, guilty as charged :shy: I love a bit car crash TV as we call it in the UK, sometimes it makes me feel better about myself when I see these people making fools of themselves for all the world to see LOL

I can't stand reality TV. I even know a few people who've been on a few shows and from what they tell me, reality TV is everything but real. I once knew someone who had been on a dating show and he was excited because he was truly looking for love. He was very disappointed when the director and producers were instructing him on how to pursue someone, especially when it was a person that he had no interest in at all.

I do like a bit of reality TV in my everyday life, I find it very interesting seeing how the other side lives and just their day to day issues with life!
It gets fun and very entertaining in limited doses of course.

For the most part I totally LOATHE reality TV. Although some of it is fun in small doses, most of it is insultingly stupid, obviously scripted, and set up to give viewers a very false picture of the "reality" of the lives of the participants. I resent how the networks inflict them on viewers in an attempt to cut the costs involved in producing a quality scripted show. The networks make big money off this type of show for way less cost than a regular show, but it is like having the caterer serve twinkies instead of cake at a wedding. You get something to eat, and technically it is cake, but you are left feeling cheated. A little fluff is nice sometimes, but I don't want that to be my only viewing choice.

The other thing I really hate about "reality" shows is that many of the people who get them are utter and complete twits and morons and don't deserve the income and respect afforded them by their celebrity status, which they usually attained by something that shouldn't confer it. If someone goes on Survivor, they at least are playing the game and putting up with the inconvenience of having their life on hold for as long as it takes. That is different than someone who is "famous" because they happen to be married to a criminal, have a father who won a celebrity trial, or manage to have more children than any sensible people would choose to. I guess people enjoy watching people whose lives are train wrecks. If they made a reality show about Jimmy Carter building houses for the poor, nobody would watch.

I love reality television! I think for me I like it so much because it gives me a break from my horrible and chaotic life and I get to pay attention to other people's crazy lives for a while. Plus they do things that I would love to do sometimes so sometimes I like to live vicariously through the people on the shows.
