I had no idea wtf was going on as I don't pay attention to multimillionaire pro sports tv but I saw the pictures floating around Facebook and thought they were hilarious.

When they fucked the Packers out of a win in Seattle that fired up so many people the league had to get it over with. That and the missed helmet to helmet calls .

I don't watch Pro Football, either, but I found this hilarious when I saw it, anyway...

The substitute refs were bad but that call in the packers v. seattle game will go down in history as one of the worst calls ever.

Except it was technically the right call.

I think it's more accurate to say it will go down in history as one of the most complained-about calls ever.

In 30 + years of watching NFL I have never seen an offensive pass interference call on a hail mary pass. For that matter, I can't recall a defensive one either.

I don't think the "real" refs would have called that play any differently, except the two guys standing over it would have likely conferred for a second to be sure they did not throw up conflicting signals.

And let's be honest, what do coaches teach DBs to do in that situation? Knock the freaking ball to the ground. If the DB had done what he was coached to do, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Know why the tell them that? Because they know that attempting a meaningless interception can only lead to disaster. Like this. The Packers fucked up and can't admit it.

These replacement refs were really thrown to the wolves.

BINGO!

Fact is, many times in the past the "real" refs %^&*ed up calls and although may of gotten some heat, nothing like the complaining you hear now.

That said, I believe the NFL did get what they wanted all along, the ability to terminate refs they felt were screwing up calls.

that was a pretty blatant bad call though...and it was backed up by the refs in the booth and the NFL....egg on face much?
