I only watch Reality TV that I consider real... shows that depict people doing things they do everyday with or without cameras... What about you?

What I'd consider REAL reality

Ace Of Cakes
Cake Boss
Made To Order
Ghost Hunters

What i would consider real reality?
Survivor
The Real World (though i watched the first 2 seasons)
The Amazing Race

I watch The Amazing Race and have a thread running here.. The reason is simple.. It is NOT everyday life and I cannot find it in my house.. If I want what can be found in any body's back yard I will look there but I don't really care too.. :D

The Amazing Race gives you a look at different cultures you would not ordinarily see.. Granted it is now becoming stale due to repeated shows and going to the same place but if the producers would get a bit creative they could come up with new ideas in the lands they visit..

As far as most other shows, I find they don't have much value to bring.. Not to me at least.. Sure for one or two shows it might be interesting, but that quickly loses it appeal for me..

Just my opinion of course..

Dana you can bet your last buck that every show you mentioned in both categories has been choreographed in one way or another. They have also been edited for entertainment value. If it wasn't nobody would watch them.

For some reason Cake Boss has felt the need to add drama recently. It seems like a lot of forced yelling.

Ace of Cakes is fun to watch. You can tell they are all friends and there is no noticeable performing.

Dirty Jobs, just cracks me up.

Chopped on food network is solid reality

not what i mean't... I'm sure they do script things sometimes (take for instance Duff's bit about feeding America's children)... But these are shows where you're watching and learning about shit people do everyday. Not some over the top scripted show where the plop people in your face for an hour just for the fuck of it.
