Great to see the process draw attention to a glaring crushing of the rights of the citizens. We are moving in a very dangerous direction and folks seem oblivious to it. At this rate we could end up in a dictatorship very soon.

A blithering idiot?

Examples please

I don't agree with all his views but then there is nobody that can say that about any politician unless they are a mind numb robot

amazing the silence on the left about drones

could you imagine if Bush had taken a similar stance

fire first and ask questions later I guess is the new way of doing business

and yeah it is sheer folly for anybody to say our rights have been eroding. Sigh

President Barack Obama has the authority to use an
unmanned drone strike to kill US citizens on American soil,
his attorney general has said.
Eric Holder argued that using lethal military force against an
American in his home country would be legal and justified

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...one-strikes-to-kill-Americans-on-US-soil.html

I believe ANY president would have that authority, or am I mistaken?

Someone just wanted to push their own agenda so they pushed the question to the current president's office.

I might of missed the law Obama passed that enabled him to be the first president to do so?

Same principle that applied when Gonzo ruled waterboarding was allowable

Holder signed off on the use of Drones.

Now it is just a matter of if and when the time comes to act using a Drone.

Hopefully this topic will stir up the masses just enough to keep this on the radar where Holder backs down

Not gonna hold my breath because the so called mainstream news media is not one to hold Obama accountable most of the time.

One a bit of a side note how is it Drones were ever accepted as a way of assassination? Though we had laws against assassinating other leaders. Do the higher ups in AQ and Taliban not fit the mold or do we have a convenient way of ignoring our laws.

Funny how US citizens soon forget the killings of US citizens on US soil by Federal Agents. The government pays a lawsuit off and people forget.

Obama is no different than any other of his predecessors.

For the use of drones for killing, makes sense and probably cost less money and lives for those using the drones.

This is the only administration that openly supports it.

And the current president's office didn't answer! It should have been a simple question, even a no-brainer. But do you really think that the president is above the Bill of Rights and doesn't have to grant due process to US citizens if he doesn't want to??

are you serious?

talk about ignoring the Bill of Rights and the Constitution

I have not forgot about Waco and Ruby Ridge. Nor instances when the DEA beats down doors with flimsy evidence.

This goes way beyond that. At Waco and RR there was at least an attempt to arrest. Pathetic attempt yes in some peoples opinion. With Drones whoever authorizes the use is judge, jury and executioner and that is unacceptable. There is no negotiating. Just a flip of a switch to murder somebody without due cause.

I wonder if Romney had won the election and we had status quo regarding our civil liberties, if this would be your or Rand Paul's tune? BTW, I am against things like the a bill with a name as disgusting (considering what it does) as the Patriot Act. I like Ron. Rand is a horses ass...

I didn't read anyplace where they supported it, just stated that given a rare hypothetical situation, it could happen.

Crucify them for admitting that they could do it?

What, just lie and say the president couldn't do it? Heck, given many hypothetical situations that probably would never happen, the president of the United States could do a lot of crap we don't know about.
