If we just packed up and left the Middle East - took 24 hours to load aircraft and flew every US citizen to the Continental US - how would that affect the USA?

i think they would discharge like 40 percent of the military and there would be a fucking gigantic economic boost just like after world war II
Maybe, except that that would be putting that many more people on the unemployed lists. I wonder what Congress would do with all that extra money saved.
they'd find a way to spend ten times as much money as they'd be saving i'm sure. seems to be their standard operating procedure now.

nothing would change IMO. i think we'd still be putting up with bin laden and his ilk.
We could concentrate on trying to fight the American and British beardy Muslims who are trying to blow us up.

Well, presuming we pull out quickly and in an organized manner, I think the odds are pretty good that the Middle East won't get pregnant. Please note however that this is not a 100% fool-proof method for contraception.
I think for America, it would be the bee’s knees for about 75 years.
Israel would be attacked relentlessly until it came down to nuclear. If we're gone 100%, that makes it Europe’s problem. Fallout in the Western Hemisphere will be minimal.
With the Jews gone, the crazies would start blaming the EU for their poverty. The EU appeases for 30 years or so until their populations are so full of Muslims that they control the majorities of the parliaments anyway. 20 years later, the crazies will start to blame the West, or Russia for their peoples poverty. Probably the West, because Russia doesn't have political correctness. They'll fight to the death, and win.
