I'm getting so sick of Win7 freezing up on me and lagging that i'm thinking about installing Kubuntu on this laptop. Win7 came as a factory default preinstalled so I'd probably have to install it alongside Win7 so that if I get tire of it I can go back to win7... Should I?

Install in a dual boot setup.
Make sure all your drivers are found.
I tried Ubuntu a while back and there was no linux friendly driver for the WiFi adapter.
That was the dealbreaker for me. Win 7 runs great on it though.

Make sure you actually want to use Kubuntu. Linux seems like fun to install and use, but once you install it you might find yourself regretting the decision when you need to access your favourite Windows programs. Also Linux really isn't as "user friendly" as people like to say it is. I always end up having some kind of technical issue with the OS and fixing the problem requires a lot of technical ability with the system, often requiring a dab hand with console.
