Is it ok for the new girl to post a topic? :p

I couldn't pass this one up, because it's so bizarre.

This is the dramatic moment when President George Bush is gunned down by a sniper after a public address at a hotel, in a gripping new docudrama soon to be aired on TV.
Set around October 2007, President Bush is assassinated as he leaves the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago.
Death of a President, shot in the style of a retrospective documentary, looks at the effect the assassination of Bush has on America in light of its 'War on Terror'.
The 90 minutes feature explores who could have planned the murder, with a Syrian-born man wrongly put in the frame.
Peter Dale, head of More4, which is due to air the film on October 9, said the drama was a "thought-provoking critique" of contemporary US society.
He said: "It's an extraordinarily gripping and powerful piece of work, a drama constructed like a documentary that looks back at the assassination of George Bush as the starting point for a very gripping detective story.

It even has a picture of him being shot in this film. I know it's an actor, hired to play him, but still. I thought it was illegal to do something like this? Whether you like Bush or detest Bush, it seems so wrong to film a movie about him being murdered. I don't understand what would make a person convince themselves that it's ok to do that. Some people will do anything for money and publicity.

why would it be illegal to show Bush getting shot?... they showed Kennedy getting his brain splattered all over the place in JFK.

I wouldn't imagine it would be illegal. It is kinda sick though. But then, look at Farenheit 911... that was one big GW bashing extraveganza, and Michael Moore didn't get arrested for it. Unfortunately, even his fat ass is protected by the First Amendment.

It IS a Federal crime or offense for anyone to willfully make a true threat to injure or kill the President of the United States. Even if it is said in a joking manner. But this documentary was made in Canada and our federal laws do not apply.

I heard about this "documentary" yesterday on Rush and he was going off on it. He was blaming the liberals and throwing a tantram about it. It was funny to hear, he is such an ass.

This is a "what if" senario type film. What makes this any different then when the Discovery channel shows what it would be like if NYC was hit by a cat 5 tornado... it's just a movie.

That's probably why it was filmed there.

Hey..... we agree on something. We should have a party to celebrate. :D

Yes, Rush is an ass. I listen to him on occasion but since his whole "my drugs are not the same as your drugs and I'm still fantastic!" fiasco, his comments just don't carry the same weight for me. I've never been a republican anyway. I'm more of a right leaning/left empathizing Independent. That fence post up my butt gets uncomfortable sometimes but I can't seem to pull it out. :p

I don't know about you but I am in love with those Discovery and/or Weather channel "what if" films about weather and disasters. I'm disaster film junkie. I can't help myself.
