I'm a few months late on the news, but pretty cool anyways.
Crank 2 will be a SEQUEL | /Film

Crank writer/directors Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine revealed to John over at TMB, that there will be another Crank movie. The big catch: it will be a SEQUEL!

“There will be a sequel to Crank yes. Prepare to Crank again. And you know the “is it a sequel or prequel” question… IT’S A SEQUEL. We’re not selling out and going prequel. We are picking up where the last movie left off.”

Chev Chelios is about to begin his morning with an unexpected wake-up call. Groggy, practically unable to move and with a heart that's barely beating, he hears the voice of thug Ricky Verona, who reveals Chev has been poisoned in his sleep and only has an hour to live. As it turns out, Chev is a hit man who freelances for a major West Coast syndicate. A run of the mill job the night before instead went awry: he let his target slip away in an effort to quit professional killing and start a new life with his girlfriend Eve. Now, Chev must keep moving to stay alive: the only way to prolong the poison from stopping his heart is to keep his adrenaline flowing. As the clock ticks, Chelios cuts a swath through the streets of Los Angeles, wreaking havoc on those who dare stand in his way. He must rescue Eve from danger, stay two steps ahead of his nemeses and search for an antidote to save his own life.

And those of you that have seen the movie and don't understand how the movie could possibly go on, continue reading. WARNING, SPOILERS BELOW!

After the fight scene in the chopper, Chev pulls Verona out of the chopper. After he kills Verona and hits the pavement, watch his face, just before the credits roll, his eyes pop open and his heart begins beating. Possibly because of the adrenaline from falling and hitting the ground.

I just really dislike that actor, and the movie seemed like Speed with a person instead of a bus...

I see what you mean, but I like Jason Statham, and Speed invovled having to drive or risk blowing up, this, while dealing with a slightly similar situation, was also very different.

The movie was okay. I liked the title, I like Jason Statham as an actor, so I thought it would be an intense movie.

Jason Statham is an awesome actor: Transporter 1 and 2; The Italian Job, now making The Brazilian Job. He does great as an action actor. He could have done as good as Daniel Craig as James Bond since he has more personality than Craig.

I do agree with you, and can't wait for The Brazillian Job, but I must disagree, Craig was well done as Bond. I originally didn't like him, but he did a grand old job. I can maybe see Jason as a Bond villian or side-kick(Mostly side-kick, the british accent), but not as Bond himself.

I just couldn't get used to Daniel Craig. I said Statham because I thought the seemed similar in look. I still say Statham has more personality than Craig, but I'll agree with you on Statham being some other character in the Bond films, probably a villain would be better.

Yeah. Although Statham does seem to be more...well liked than Craig. I mean, I loved Craig in the movie, but Statham is more action and has a better personality, he talks and jokes around and is still serious, whereas Craig was pretty flat throughout the movie, unless he was pissed off. Even when he was with the girls, he was pretty dull. But I mean, yeah, in the future I could see Statham possibly pulling off the role of a Bond villian, if not Bond himself.

I didn't rent it, the reviews said it was full of debauchery. I was wondering if there would actually be a 'story' in it, so I passed on it. Normally I can handle the debauchery if there is a story with some meaning in there somewhere.
