We got 2 weeks before the election, but I suspect how it's going to end. :p

After Obama wins- it will go back to the status quo with a united Republican Party fighting tooth and nail to stop Obama from accomplishing anything involving an increase in GOP inappropriate tax revenue, while the country continues to slide towards the abyss.

After Romney wins-
he may be a centrist, but he'll end up dealing with the same asshole Republican leadership who will bend him over a chair and you can guess the rest. It would be an opportunity to see if current GOP could help the country or be an unmitigated disaster for average citizens. Maybe we'll get a revolution out of it? ;)

I realize that depending on how Congressional races go, this will also have an effect. In either case, what I want is the U.S. populace to DEMAND progress in our top halls of government. Is there any reason for hope this will happen?

I suspect Romney would have a better time dealing with congress than Obama because he has done it before. Call it waffling or whatever but he showed signs of being able to sit down with those on the other side of the aisle.

While Obama is like the spoiled brat that expects everybody to cow tow to his every desire.

With the morons in congress though who knows until we get the change we deserve. Which means getting rid of those morons in congress. The hard left and the hard right want their control and will stop at nothing to get it and keep it. Everybody thinks though that every body in congress sucks except for their own senator and reps.

Talking Heads song comes to mind. "Same as it ever was"

Of course not, since progress means starting to surrender the political power they illegally gathered in Washington over the last century or so. No, you "Progressives" (as progressive as the "Patriot" Act is patriotic) have willingly given up far too much of our liberty to ever hope to be free.
