Popular antidepressant linked to overdoses

The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday urged doctors to prescribe the popular antidepressant Effexor in the smallest possible quantities to reduce the risk of overdose.
Wyeth, the maker of Effexor or venlafaxine HCI, and the FDA had reports of overdoses occurring in some patients, mostly in combination with alcohol or other drugs, the agency said in a statement.
“Health care professionals are advised to prescribe Effexor and Effexor XR in the smallest quantity of capsules consistent with good patient management to reduce the risk of overdose,” the FDA said.

There are quite a few females that I work with that are either on Effexor OR Cymbalta and they are just the happiest people when they are taking their meds. But if they miss a day or two......oh my gosh! They are so moody!
I had started taking Lexapro back in March for anxiety and stress but I only took it for about 2 months and told myself that I am NOT taking that anymore. It made me turn into the biggest bitch ever! I didnt want to take it if that was one of the side effects. So I know longer take Lexapro or any medicine of that sort.

i take Effexor. im the same way. when i take them im all happy and shit. when i act goofy on here that means im most likley am medded up. and when i dont take them. i slowly get depressed and then it turns VERY BAD where i want to hurt someone if they fuck with me.

i dont like how i am off the meds so i try to take them all the time. when i first started taking them i was on (3) 75 mg. but it does the reverse affect on me now so i dont take more then 75 mg's a day.

Depakote, Tenex, zoloft, syeraquil, syerazone, risperdal. probally more but i cant remember right now.

Depakote is the devil!!!! I take Paxil now. It's the only thing that makes me normal and not a big dribbling ball of tears. lol

The missus is on Effexor and I know exactly what you mean! If she's missed her medication it's probably best to stay well away from her!!!

i hated depakote. it made me fat. then i stopped taking it and i lost all the weight i gained from it. like over 100lbs in 6 months. then i started lifting to take away lifes stresses and shit.

syeraquil and syerazone made me a nasty son of a bitch. people that live in my area on this site might know where this is where i went to. Horsham clinic where they fixed the med problems.
