My parents have had their dog Colby aka Ew Dog for about 8 years. A few weeks ago, he had trouble jumping up on the couch. My parents took him to the vet and found out that he had no feeling in his tail and either had a stroke or a pinched nerve. They put him on some medicine and he's been doing a lot better. Well today, the door bell rang and Colby jumped up to run to the door. That's when my mom noticed blood all over the couch. She ran over to the dog and saw that he was covered in blood. She took him outside and found that he had chewed a hole in his tail. They wrapped his tail up and taped it and rushed him to the vet.
As far as they can tell, his tail was annoying him because he couldn't move so he started chewing on it. He got about half way through before my mom noticed because it wasn't hurting him. So, he'll have to have his tail amputated tomorrow. What a great start to the weekend.
