Joe thinks we should stop reseting the scores because it wont show total games played (it resets that as well) What is your opinion.

Dont reset= NO

Maybe a yearly basis. By having high scores it gives you something to work for.

Exactly. Many people spend hours a day working to get high scores. Constantly resetting the scores will likely take the competitive edge off. Once per year is more like it, or even NEVER.

We reset the scores one time, we didn't have many games and we did it because the majority of members here wanted it reset.

I think a high score is, just that, a high score. Let it stay there. You worked hard for it, and it should remain.

NO SCORE IS UNBEATABLE!!! If it was achieved once, then it can be done again. There is always someone better out there.

well some games to have limits to them like one of the home run deby games, once everyone in the top 10 tied for the top score, that game should be reset. is it possible to reset just one game at a time? i see your point about people having something to strive for and the more i think about it, the more it seems better to not reset EVER. because the people that play for fun dont care if the scores are reset or not, the people who get the high score want to see it there as long as it can be, and if they are topped within a month, they may just wait a couple weeks to try again... maybe never reset unless an overwhelming request is made to reset

Yes games can be reset manually. Also, if the game is really popular I can recode the game and make it more competitive. For example, I could change the homerun dirby game to throw 100 pitches or maybe not show that x where the ball's gonna be coming. I should have no problem modifying most things on most games.

V i think the current hight score is 417 so somewhere around there and that mario game is only 8 levels and thats the top score and anyone can get 8 so i dont know if you can modify that game or not.

How about just resetting the Game of the Week or whatever it is, that way everyone starts from scratch?

Or that would just drive more people to that game and challenge the current high score.

What if... tetris was your favorite game. You played your heart out on that game for two days because you wanted that trophy... and the next day after you finally one it - the score was reset.

I wouldn't like it. In my mind, if you want to take that trophy then your gonna have to play your ass off just like me. Just because a trophy score is high doesn't mean it's unbeatable, or that the game is no fun because of it.

ok, maybe just reset the ones that get maxed out every month? why would someone keep playing Power Driver if the score is 416 or one of the Mario ones if the score is eight?

I wouldn't mind if the scores didn't get reset monthly. What i wish we could do is have a monthly high score board, and a top 10 ever high score board as well, within the game. I'm obviously not opposed to having an all time high score format, but I don't care that much about it.

I have a few all time high scores that might not apply to the above statement. :D

One other point is that some games have a maximum high score, and once it's reached, it can't be exceeded. Games like super mario mushroom are easy to peg, and would make no sense to keep an all time high score for it. It's just the first one to reach the plateau. These games woulld really benefit from a time bonus clock, making time a factor for score.

how about setup 2 lists of games, one you reset, and another you dont :dunno

and then the game section would pick up, because polls could be set up for each list, adding and removing, etc :dunno

If you need any assistance with automating anything, I could write up some scripts that could handle selected games and reset the scores upon certain intervals or when the score board has 4 or 5 people tied for the high score. Whatever it needs to do.
