You could just replace the words Science and Faith with Evolution and Creationism...

That is the point, and it's a very good point.
Evolution came about through scientific observation and was strengthened by more scientific study.
Creationism came about through story telling, then they try to fit the science to the story. Whatever science fits with the story stays and the science that doesn't fit is disregarded.
