Anyone participate? Is there one in your area? I was all set to do it AGAIN this year, but talked myself out of it at the last minute....now I'm pissed off at myself.:mad

Here's a crappy picture of the one in our town, a friend and her 12 year old daughter did it. I'm such a wimp.

Not a polar bear swim, but for about 10 years straight on EVERY January 1st we'd go whitewater kayaking to start out the new year.

Some pretty darn cold runs. Had to sit in the car with the heater blasting after you finished the run so you could thaw out your drysuit because everything was frozen shut and you couldn't get out of anything.

Anyone can hop in freezing water for a second.

I was going to do it this year for the first time, but we only remembered about it last night, late last night, very drunk late last night. Then I was too busy spewing and feeling the effects of last night all day to go. Damn.

I have considered the Polar Bear Plunge at Lee's Ford. Don't know if they are doing it this year.

They usually have one in the Sepentine in London, can't say freezing my bollocks off swimming in the middle of winter has ever really appealed to me.

Yanno...now that someone has sort of kind of mentioned it...I always assumed men wouldn't really care to jump into freezing cold water like that. IJS
