Anyone go? Do they auto deduct the monthly fee from your checking? I was asked for my check routing number upon paying and I'm being questioned why theyd need my check routing number. I don't remember if she told me they did it automatically or not... Of course PF being independently owned each might be different.

Think of your banks routing number as their drivers license number.

They need it to be able to connect with the bank and withdraw funds.

Ask them??? I don't use Planet Fitness...I use Edge Fitness (it switched over from Gold's Gym some time ago). My fees are automatically drafted from my bank account every month (well, the fees that are above what comes out of my paycheck...but that's a long story).

I would ask about cancelation policies, working at the bank I saw a ton of people forget to tell their gym and they still took the monthly charge out. Checking routing number proves you have account with said bank.

At my gym you can sign up for a yearly plan and pay the fee in one lump sum. That was optimal for me because it only cost $90, which was pretty sweet.

I have NEVER seen anybody cancel w/ my gym and NOT have a problem getting them to stop the withdrawals. The owner even TOLD us to make sure we did so and so and got a confirmation number...we STILL got an extra month taken out. Then it took them 2 months to get my money back to me. :24:

routing number sounds the same as our Sort Code. Pretty important bit of information for any direct debit.

And I totally forgot to give it to them today... Both people were busy and I went in to change and started my class and then it slipped my mind.
