Pit Bulls

Had an argument at work today with a co-worker yesterday. She said that she doesn't understand why anyone would have pit bulls and that they are all just time bombs waiting to happen and her solution was just to round up all the pit bulls and put them to sleep. I swear some people just make me angry to no extent. Its true that pit bulls are stronger and have a stronger bite then most any dogs. However I have only seen 1 dog period and it wasn't a pit bull that was mean for no apparent reason. It is not the breed of dog thats the problem. Maybe we should just round up all of these dog fighting rings and put those guys to sleep. I have always owned a pit bull and have never ever seen one of them be mean towards a human or even to another animal without provocation before. madmadmad:mad

I know several people that have incredibly nice pit bulls. They even let them play with their little kids!

A pit bull is only dangerous if he/she is raised that way or abused.

My old landlord had a pit bull, lovely thing, it used to lick me to death everytime I went round there. The people I have a problem with are the ones who abuse their dogs to make them vicious, for whatever reason.

I got 2 pit bulls. Mom and daughter. Never once have had a problem out of either one of them. My son will sit out on the porch and love on them for hours. They have never once showed any aggression whatesoever towards any of us.

Damn right. It doesn't matter what breed they are, dogs' attitudes are largely formed based on the attitude of the one raising it.

Well, you have to understand that, similar to humans, there are dogs who, for lack of a better word, are bad. It's possible that their natural instinct as a wild animal kicked in, but I don't really know. As I said, it's possible they were just bad dogs.
