In Malyasia. When in Malaysia, we live at Ah Mahs house, which is Mia's Great Grandmother. Ah Mah lives just down the street from an orphanage and this is where Mia and I go when it's play time. Over the last year, Mia has grown to love these kids as much as they love her. They vary in age from 3 mos to 16 years. There are 18 kids to two adult caregivers. These caregivers are wonderful, loving people and they are not subsidized from the state. Only from private donations.

Here are a few pictures of Mia. Many of them were taken at the orphanage. The rest are just fluff of my Malay posse.

This is Mia and one of the caregivers

Mia knows how to SWIM! But this is an older picture, before she turned one year old.

She's absolutely precious!

Hmm I should grab some water wings for Amara, she thinks she's a fish... only she sinks!

Mia was about 10 months old when she fell in the pool. The only thing was that she began to kick right away and didn't sink. The water wings are MANDATORY although it pisses her off royally. The weather in the states is cold and the neighborhood pools are drained. I'll be taking her to the local hospital/health club pools now.

Mia is fully potty trained too and was since eleven months. Everything is accellerated over there as far as developement is concernd.

I think Amara (what a BEAUTIFUL name!) would do really well with wings. :D

I'm all for acceleration, my daughter isn't though... digging her stubborn heals in!! :24:

She's fearless, I've been holding off on swimming lessons until she listens better/potty trained (we're about half there I think)... no real rush though, we got no pool nearby she could get into without us :D

Thank you everybody! She also makes me look smart in public. But only because she is WAY smarter than me. :D
