LOL--Thanks!!! I'm super excited! I thought for sure I wouldn't win this round--I'm not good with buildings and stuff, and there really aren't any cool buildings around here.
Thanks for the votes, everyone!! <3

There was some stiff competition this time, there were some really fantastic pictures this round--I was way impressed!

Congratulations on your win :)

Commiserations Zorak - stymied by one vote from getting the full 25.

No need for commiserations here. I'm very happy, and slightly surprised, to finish second. The standard is very high. I voted for Natasha's lighthouse (is that in Georgia? Wouldn't have guessed that) because that was my favourite photo. But it was a very difficult choice, and there were none I could say that I definitely did not like.

Photo 1 was mine - Trinity Church here in Boston. Unfortunately, the lighting was crappy on the day I went out, and my picture doesn't do the beautiful old church justice. Here are some other photos from that day:

(I have a better shot of this piece on my home computer, but you can at least see some of the cool figures carved into the building)

You can't see it well during the day, but towards dusk the stained glass windows really pop out.

I like these 2 shots. Nice capture of the architectural details and design.:thumbup

Darn acc - I voted for it anyway because I could see some of the detail, but had you used the first shot of your "others from the day" my choice would have been even more concrete. Great detail there.

No worries! Haha I was *this* close to picking that one too - I was just worried that if I used a black-and-white photo, it would lose votes or be less striking. Wish I went with my first instinct, but oh well - with so many great shots, I don't know if it would have made a huge difference! :)

That's the dilemma we all face eh. Wondering about what the audience will like! :p I was torn between many in choosing mine. I had so many to choose from but in the end plumped for this one. It wasn't my first choice (that's below) but my first choice was chopped to darken the skies (using a gradient EV correction only) - a bit too heavy imho, plus annoying people in the shot ruined it too :p (too much chopping to chop them out too). The sky was more the grey colour immediately above the building.

Thank you to those who voted for mine below!! :)

Thanks for the vote. :) It's actually in Maine. It's the Nubble Lighthouse. I took that photo on my vacation in January. I liked that particular shot because I thought the overcast skies made it look more like a painting than a photo.
