I posted earlier about my anniversary. Every year for 29 years my Mother-In-Law has given us an anniversary card and called on our anniversary. For each of those 29 years I have told my Mother it was our anniversary and she has acted surprised each and every time. Guess which one my children are closer to? Guess which one made a point to be at everything my children did when growing up? My mother really has rarely made an effort to be a part of my children's lives, and no, they are not really close to her. She has no idea what she has missed out on being a part of but those are her choices. I hope I am smarter when my children have their own families.
