This is a sick world we live in.

I don't look at it as being sick, but stupid.

Hey, bad shit happens to good people all the time, however, if a 9 month old pregnant woman is stupid enough to go to a late night drive in movie with the father of her unborn child and then drop him off at his girlfriends house, well, as Forest says, "stupid is what stupid does".

Really? It's stupid to trust the father of your baby not to set you on fire?

Assuming he did it anyway. But come on, I know trusting someone isn't a prerequisite to sleeping with them, but they were obviously on friendly enough terms still to go see a movie together. If she'd had any inkling he was dangerous, why would she have been on a trip out with him? What reason would she have had to think she was in danger with him?

I don't care what kind of relationship they had. Taking your babies father home to his girlfriends house between the hours of 0100 and 0500 coming back from the movies isn't so smart IMO and is only asking for trouble.

If the man is living with another woman and is the father of your soon to be baby, you take him to the cleaners to support your baby, you don't "hang" with him to the wee hours of the morning.

Because it's completely impossible that two people might decide to part ways and find other partners, but still remain on friendly terms. Once you break up with someone, it's imperative that you don't ever trust them, ever again.

Joe, I get that obviously in this case, the guy was a bad sort. But you're making it sound like any woman crazy enough to get in a car with her ex-boyfriend is asking for trouble. When did ex-boyfriends suddenly become untrustworthy bastards, just because they've started living with a different woman? He could well have met that woman after the relationship ended. The article doesn't say when they broke up - maybe she didn't even find out she was pregnant until after they'd split. Or maybe she ended it, who knows. It seems like you're judging this girl for doing nothing more than assuming someone she'd had an intimate relationship with and was having a child with might not want to try and kill her.

I've gone out for a drink alone with my ex-boyfriend more than once, and after we broke up we often went to see movies together in the evenings, even after we both started dating again. From what you're saying, it sounds like if he'd suddenly flipped on me and tried to burn me alive, I would have been labelled stupid in that situation for trusting him once we were no longer in a romantic relationship. I just don't see where you're getting this point of view from.

Anyone else count the stars and realize joe meant African Americans?

I might of missed it, but where in the story did it ever mention the racial make up of the parties involved in the story I posted?

Never thought of black (nor white, oops, sorry, are those terms to politically incorrect for you?) people when I read the story, I thought of stupid people.

Sorry I missed the racist name, but it speaks a lot about you for going that route considering the information I gave. Let me guess, early 20's, daddies money for college with a arts degree and no job lined up?

HK, considering the man lived with another woman, and they were going back to his place after midnight and before the sun came up, AND the vehicle was being parked INSIDE the garage, sorry, that's putting yourself in a bad situation. Heck with the guy, I'd be worried about the "live in girlfriend". Now, if she had a .45 in her hand, that would be a different story. Don't get me wrong, if they went out in the evening and came home before 8pm and she was just dropping the guy off, that's one thing, but...they way this whole scenario played out stunk and she should of had enough common sense NOT to park the car in the garage IMO.

Joe no offence but I think you are way off base here. Thats almost like blaming the woman for dressing a certian way if a man attacks her. I dont see anything wrong with her going to a movie with the father of her unborn child. To me it seems like they were (well at least one of them, hes obviously a nutjob) being responsible and trying to get along for the sake of the child even though they realized they couldnt be in a relationship. So what they parked in the garage? Maybe thats where the car was parked. Who cares what time it was maybe they lost track of time. The article also doesnt state if the new girl new the standing of their relationship at the time, she may have been completly ok with it.

If you have a spouse that is out late at night with one of their old flames, perhaps everything is cool, but something isn't adding up anyway you cut it.

Agreed, not much as far as info per the story, but what is told in this story doesn't add up to common sense.

I only blame the girl for stupidity. The house wasn't even the guys, it was the new girlfriends house.
