And why, oh why, does the public and news media need to see the interrogation of a detainee?

Hmmmm.......I dont think its the fact about whether or not the public see the interrogation, but the fact they ignored a Federal judges order. (thats how I see it anyway)

But, I;m guessing the Pentagon makes their own rules:dunno

The judge's original ruling said that was the reason for taping it. Either way, I have a feeling nothing will ever come from this.

Oh I'm with you there......Cant tape something once its over and done with can you;)

and I'm guessing the judge wanted the public and media to be able to see for themselves that nothing untoward went on at Gitmo.....because of all the bad press?

Makes ME wonder...

So are you questioning the judiciary?

He's just making a statement of fact. The escalation of this is someplace I don't think anyone is willing to go.

The enforcement of court orders comes from the executive, therefore if you hold a part of the executive in contempt, you depend on the executive to essentially police itself.

If the executive refuses to, the next step is to petition the congress for impeachment of the relevant people in charge.

If you think Nancy Pelosi's House of Representatives is going to impeach Barack Obama or any of his admin for refusal to order compliance with a court order, much less have Harry Reid's Senate remove the impeached from office, you're dreaming....

That's 25 minutes of video. I wish I had that kind of time.

Civilian courts shouldn't be ordering the military on how to treat their prisoners. This gray area shit has to stop. Either he's a POW or he's a suspect in a criminal investigation. The president needs to shit or get off the pot.

Freedom is being eroded with more rules. Now they tell you who can be members of social networks and who can't.
Ethics Group Questions Facebook 'Friending'
Florida's judges and lawyers should no longer "friend" each other on Facebook, the popular social networking site, according to a ruling from the state's Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee.
At least one South Florida judge warned her pals with a Facebook status update that they could be "unfriended," and the ruling has prompted others to do the same. The committee ruled Nov. 17 that online "friendships" could create the impression that lawyers are in a special position to influence their judge friends.

That makes perfect sense. Ethics in any profession are kind of a big deal. What if a judge had the prosecutor as a friend, and a defense lawyer was able to get a conviction over-turned because of it?

Ethics practiced only in Florida?
There's a lot of ways to answer this question. Maybe it hasn't happened in other states. Maybe other states judges will see the ruling and realize they're in the wrong ethically. Maybe the case will get appealed all the way to the Supreme Court and become a national law one way or another.

But you're damn right it's only in Florida right now. Florida has no right as a state to make laws for the rest of the country. This is how our country works.

Why are you always so damn quick to jump on anything the US does? This shit isn't even relevant to the thread at ALL. I'll take the ethics of Florida, or any US state, over your oppressive regime any day of the week.
