il still be able to get on the net right after that or will need a total reboot? i thinking of doing my new puter too that i got second hand.

The program I reccomended will only cleans single files & folders. Once installed you need to right click on a file & then destroy it. This will remove it completely. There is also an option to clear away your internet files.

The only real way though to completely clean the disk is to do a complete Windows Installation. If you have the disk this is easy to do & gets rid of everything but there are other probs with this & that is that the person you are giving the PC to gets your copy of Windows (legal hassles or not - it's up to you). They should ideally have their own.

If you are getting a new (second hand) PC, then I would reinstall Windows, only to ensure that I had a clean slate & not someone elses virus's (virii?). Also this will be your Windows install & not someone elses.

And since I know someone is gonna ask this: No, I don't always get a virus, I never have to reinstall more often than you usually should (One install of windows shouldn't be left on a computer for more than 6-8 months before formatting and reinstalling), and I'm only running 28 processes currently on my deesktop, which has been running on the same windows install for 6 months now.

If you don't want viruses, don't go to questionable sites, don't download game cracks (or any programs that aren't reliable for that matter), and don't download too much porn. Simple as that.
