No soup kitchen for this beggar. Shane Warren Speegle told Oklahoma City police he made $60,000 panhandling last year.

"Why would I go get a job?" he said to an officer who approached him earlier this month, according to KOCO.com.

When I was in college one of my professors told us about a study that a guy had done. He stood outside w/ a sign that said "Why lie? I need a beer." With weekends off and 2 weeks of vacation, he made $75K in one year.

Exactly how does one determine what a panhandler is telling you is accurate?

Not simple when the media has reported how much you earned.
