Though Anderson does not name Rock in the note, which was posted Tuesday, the source says that the couple plan to tie the knot on July 29, on a yacht near Saint-Tropez, where they recently celebrated Anderson’s 39th birthday.
“I’ve raised my kids alone in hope of a miracle,” Anderson writes. “Well my miracle came and went. And came back and came back because he knew that I’d wake up one day and realize that I was waiting for nothing. I’m moving on … I feel like I’m finally free … I’m in love. I’m happy.”
She was previously married to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee from 1995 until 1998. They have two sons, Dylan, 8, and Brandon, 10.
Anderson and Rock (real name: Robert Richie), 35, began dating in spring 2001, and became engaged on April 11, 2002. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, he drove Anderson by motorcycle to a gravel highway strip in the desert south of Las Vegas. There, pal Uncle Kracker, wearing an Elvis jumpsuit and waiting in a pink Cadillac, handed him a ring and Rock proposed. Anderson accepted. Her rep said at the time, “She’s elated.”
However, the couple broke up in June 2003. “The word that best describes me now is ‘free,’ ” Anderson says. “That’s all I will say. I’m a mom, and that’s where my life is at.”
But apparently, when she and Rock ran into each other early this month in Saint-Tropez on a yacht owned by a mutual friend, old feelings came rushing back.
“It was like we’d never been apart,” Rock said on July 11. Although they weren’t expecting to see each other, “it turned out great. She had the kids there and it was so nice to see them and it was wonderful. Love her to death.”
Asked whether there were hints of romance during their encounter, Rock said only, “You can just put, ‘More to come.’ “
