Too be honest, I'm not exactly sure but it was probably around the time the government brought in a new law to stop people protesting outside of parliment, I do remember him being on the news and being quite pissed off about it though.

Yeah but within reason. There was a single guy who camped outside parliment for a few years to peacefully protest the war on his own. I fail to see what a security risk he was.

Yes, if you read about it in that link I posted it should make it clearer than I can. It's also pretty bad the amount of money which has been spent on removing this man seeing he was doing no harm.

Not only that, but completly wrong. The Nazis used prohibitation of speech to their advantage. But I guess that's bad when the wrong people do it, right?

And yes, I do believe its bad when people abuse freedom of speech. I don't believe in freedom of speech when it encroaches of other peoples rights who dont go around spreading hatred.

but then its not freedom of speech, its the freedom to say what you want as long as no one gets butthurt. I said in another thread that freedom of speech has a dark side. It just wouldn't be Democratic if you don't have the right to tear people down I guess.

Guess you're right, I really don't understand why people have this idea that freedom of speech is the greatest thing ever and can do no wrong:smiley24: It's imperfect and has room for loopholes, the same as other political ideas.

Every right that America's government has given to the people have many loopholes for different reasons, Its pretty nuts if you think about it, but its worked so far so why the hell not.

It has worked better than a lot of ideas but I think when people start finding loopholes, it's time to start closing them, otherwise the whole point of them loses it's meaning and goes bad. Communism started off as a well intentioned and noble idea on paper too!
