OTZ Squad: Why the fuck won't Xubuntu boot up for me?

I can boot it from the HD if I have the CD in but without the cd the splash comes up acts like its booting but then shut my monitor off.

ive reinstalled. its like it goes to boot up, then the monitor goes black with no signal. and dos come up to the load screen but i can put the cd in and boot the hd from the cd.

Is it the latest version of xubuntu? Really sounds to me like something definitely is corrupt. When you reinstalled, did you install over or did you format and try again?
