I have to write a speech for my friends wedding. I am the best man. Any tips ? Templates ? I have good material just not sure how to word it all.

remember that everyone doesn't laugh at everything. be honest and sincere and don't bring up the past because it is not about what you two did, but instead it is about your friend and his spouse's day and help them enjoy it.

I'd beware tricky topics - if you know the bride disapproves of strippers, don't make out like the groom spent his stag night buried in tits. And oh god, don't just wing it. My ex winged a best man's speech and ended up upsetting the groom's father by mentioning his dead brother.

Seriously though, make sure you outline your speech, and practice it.

The difference seems huge, but it's really not.

It's the screwing you get for the screwing you got.

Just concentrate on the good times, how proud you are of him, maybe throw in a couple of jokes like "I've lost my wingman now!" etc etc.

Don't go in with anything too conservative, remember grandmothers will be there!
