Well I think overall and for the big prizes it's going to be a battle between Avatar and The Hurt Locker. I think The Hurt Locker could come out on top, the Oscars have tended to favour the smaller films to the blockbusters, lately. I wouldn't be surprised to see The Young Victoria pick up a couple of awards.

Though all of the attention has been focused on Avatar and Hurt Locker, I'm gonna predict a bit of an upset tonight:

Best Picture: Up in the Air.

Avatar will win a ton for it's technical acheievements, Hurt Locker will win something, but the acting awards will go to George Clooney and Sandra Bullock.

good to see jeff bridges finally got some recognition :)

and it's even better to see colin firth lose. although that does give him more time to go around playing the english gallant loser, which he loves. fuckwit.

I don't understand why loads of women go weak at the knees for Colin Firth. Even watching Pride and Prejudice didn't do it for me :surrender

I was surprised that Avatar didn't win more, I thoguht that was a sure winner.
Though that said, quite a few people I know who were amazed and raving about Avatar a couple of months back are now saying, it's not as good as they thought now they've seen it several times or had time to think about what they've seen.

I am happy for Sandra Bullock, although I believe that Gabby Sidibe deserved the award. AMAZING performance in Precious!
