My brother called me about 10:30ish and told me that their golden retriever, "Ginger" died this morning.
They fed them and let them out to go potty. About 10 minutes later my sister in law walks out back to try to get her to come in (sometimes she was stubborn and wouldn't budge anyway), well she found her laying in the grass. She'd suddenly just... died.
Not sure of what the cause was, but she was only four yrs old. Larger dogs usually have a life span of 7-10 years, but she went before her time. My brother thinks it may have been a sudden heart attack. I'm not aware of any heart problems she had going in for her regular checkups though.
RIP Ginger, we all miss you already.
This is her about 10 months ago when I was living there, her and Mr. Banks passed out on my bed;
