this is probably more relevant to new yorkers, but anyone can post an opinion...

what are your thoughts on the proposed plan to build a new statdium in manhattan for the olympics?

try and keep your response from the perspective of someone who lives in the area..

i for one am not so keen on it. (dont have time now to say why, maybe later ) but im more interetsed in what others think, especially since i know alot ofyou guys (or all of you?) arent from manhatan

My only question would be Where?? I've only been there once, but it was so crowded already, I imagin they would have to demo something.

Overall though, I think the olympics are a good thing to any city. It brings in a ton of money, and modernizes the transportation systems, and generally cleans things up.

If it's in NY (Like I hope and imagin it will be), I think you'll be glad for it. Hook me up w/ some tickets yo. :D

i havent been following it that closesly but last i heard they were thinking about an area near the jacob javits center (where the NY auto show is). theres a train yard or something around there they were considering to build on.

the truth is, im not so into it, becasue like you said, NYC is crowded enough as it is...try walking around in any of the areas that attract tourists and youll know what i mean..

plus they are probbaly gonna have to use millions or billions of bucks to do it, proably out of my pocket (well, not just mine... i wish my pockets were that big,....) and i think there are better ways to improve nyc...

Yes in the beginning it will use a lot of tax money, but the amount of tourism that will hit the area then, and in the future will most likely pay for it.
