It seems that every time I see some old fart driving along their mouth is open with a look of fear on their face. Is this because driving scares them? That could explain why they drive ten miles under the speed limit. Or is it because they are so focused on the road that they cannot be bothered with trivial things like face muscles? I just don't get it, maybe I'll have to wait until I get old to find out.

I cant stand old drivers, i just about rear ended one when they pulled out right infront of me and never accelerated....

I think around 75 or 80 they shouldnt be allowed to drive, or atleast get testing ever 1 or 2 years or something for their licenses

It should be done by a case by case status.

If an elderly person is having problems keeping the speed limit without swerving and keeping out of harms way, they simply should not be driving.

I know my grandma has basically all but given up her driving privilages by choice, and my grandpa doesn't like driving at night. (bad eyesight, along with colorblindness.)

I hate to sound so harsh on these older folks because a majority of them are just as sweet as pie but their driving holds everybody up to getting where they need to be on time. It annoys me because they have no problem with pulling out right in front of you but they sure dont get in any hurry to go with the flow of traffic. Im thinking to myself, why didnt they just wait to pull out after I went by?

I had to say let em drive. Ive got grandparents in thier late 70s and the depend on being able to drive. They both know that they cant drive after dark so they dont. Not to mention, they like out in the country and have to go to town alot. I couldnt imagine taking that away from them. I do however believe that once you hit a certain age you should be tested every year instead of every 4. There are too many people out there that are just too much of a hazzard to the rest of us. Ive nearly been hit while working on the side of the road before by old people who couldnt see me there in my bright orange shirt with the flashing strobe lights on my truck. You dont realize how scary it is to work on the side of the road till you have to do it.

Thats kind of my whole POV an the subject also. I love my grandparents and I couldnt imagine how they would feel if they were told that they werent allowed to drive anymore b/c they have reached a certain age. I say as long as theyre not a hazzard or a threat to anyone, we can put up with a little slow driving now and then. :dunno
