We hardly use our phone and are thinking of giving up one of our contracted phones for a pay-as-you-go or prepaid plan.

Do you use one of these? What's the cheapest? What's the difference? What do you recommend?

I've never had pre-paid.
it just seems like a hassle because you end up paying for everything you would with a contracted phone, just the prices differ, i just don't know how.

Plus you can always run out of minutes or something. Can't really say though cause again no pre paid experience.

I've had prepaid. Each plan is a little different when you compare Verizon, Altell, etc. etc.
I had Verizon and had awesome coverage, but prepaid can add up if you use it alot.
I did find that Boost mobile (Sprints prepaid company) has an unlimited everything for $50! If you get good coverage from sprint I'd look into them.

I'm so glad I'm not prepaid anymore though...I talk to much to do that lol.

I think AnitaBeer right now. *cough* ahem I mean...

I have used prepaid before. I highly very highly recommend avoiding ATT, and Sprint. cost is too much. It's like getting raped but they never give you flowers or ointment for the pain. I recommend T-mobile or Vigin Mobile.

I guess like anita said if you go with boost that would be ok. (even though it's sprint owned. It's been a while since I had sprint.

We have 2 phones with T-Mobile now on their cheapest constract plan. Same plan since 2002 and never a problem. Our calls to each other are free, but that only consists of "Hey, I'm on my way home. Need me to get anything?" "No, we're okay." "Okay. Love ya, bye." every day. Neither of us talk to other people much except face to face, except my beloved's monthly call home that lasts an hour.

We're thinking that we could save some money if we drop one contract and get a prepaid or pay as you go.
