This topic is beyond vague...

If you want specifics in philosophy, you have to point yourself in a direction...religion (St. Augustine's City of God against the Pagans is a popular read for Christians.)...historical philosphy...which is so broad you could break it down into smaller chunks...early philosophy (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle...Plato's Republic and Aristotle's Politicts.) there are even sports philosophies. There are so many more too...Chinese has an extremely rich philosophical background with Confucious, Tao - especially Lao Zi, Zhu Zi who I believe is classified as a Neo-Confucist (sp). There are also plenty of Hindu/Buddah/Zen philosophies available.
