It's the most wonderful time of the year folks! The NHL Playoffs will get under way on April 11th at 7 PM EST. I am designating this tread for all things hockey. Have a thought about a team you want or don't want to win, put it here! Got a favorite team...I know I do. For those of you who don't know the NHL playoffs are a best of 7 series and contains 4 rounds. Out of all 30 teams in the NHL only 16 make it to the playoffs, top 8 from East and West. I will keep this topic updated at the least every other day with scores and other NHL playoffs news.

Ok, now that Detroit has made it to the second round, they will be in the Finals. We all know what happens when they make it to the Finals, they don't lose.

I beg to differ...if I remember correctly and I'm rarely wrong when it comes to hockey....detroit got swept by hte NJ Devils in 95 that would mean they go their asses spanked in the finals

Lets see. Detroit Red Wings - 10 Stanley Cups. NJ - 3. The Wings have been to 22 Finals. Granted, they've lost 12 of them, still made it. NJ is what, 3-1? One series does not make a dynasty. But its all good. When the Wings are holding the Cup high when the season is done, I'll have a drink on you.

I was just proving a point you said once detroit goes to the finals they win...I proved differently...detroit is also one of the original teams so yeah I'd hope they would have more stanly cups than the devils whom have only been around for 25 seasons...the 25 seasons when the nhl talent has gotten a hell of a lot better...devils and the wings are both 3-1 in the last 12 years in the finals...now being one of the original teams that makes it a hell of a lot easier to have that many appearances in the finals...we can go at this all day

Well all the game ones went as I had thought they would except for one.
ANA ran over VAN like I knew they would.
BUF trampled the NYR as they should.
I knew OTT would give the NJD a hard time and sadly my Devils were beaten by the Sens.
The only one I did not see coming at all was the SJS completely shutting down the DET offense in a 2-0 win.
Can't wait for tonight's games!!
