While this thread was inspired by the sig talk that seems to be dominating discussion today, it's not to criticize any of the people involved. In fact, one thing I like about OTz is the lack of sigs.
That being said, what's with the obsession with sigs that I seem to see all over the internet forums? The sig sizes are getting ridiculous. One forum that I frequent is getting WAY out of hand. The sigs take up like three-quarters of every page. The worst is when someone leaves a one sentence message and then they have like six inches of signature below it.
Is the av and username at the side of our posts not enough? I can see wanting to put a clever statement or a personal link or something down there, but sometimes it seems like people see it as a status symbol or something.
Am I the only one who's notices this?
