I'm impressed. He reminded me of the first time I heard him speak back in '04.

I voted against, but I am hopeful for the future.

Re: Obama's acceptance speach:

Yes his speech was excellent! I like how he made it clear you are all in it together and its not going to be easy so no pipe dreams. Tell you what though...I was terrified for him being up on that stage with no protection.

I thought both speeches were outstanding

I'm with, and hopeful as well. Right man, right message, right time. We're living history right now, and that's exciting

yeah I saw what little they had of the glass...I think it should have been like a bubble around him, as I'm with Jim...thats a big fear for a lot of people I would imagine as the KKK is still alive and well in the US.

On another note:

I didn't stay up later to see Mc'olds speech so I'll have to look on the net for it. I'm sure he was a very gracious.:thumbup

Hey if he somehow manages to help pull this country out of the mire, I'll give credit where credit is due.

I was talking to this Republican oldtimer...and I mean this guy goes back 50 years in the party and he told me "I think that guy Obama is lying through his teeth"

I responded with "My fear is that he isn't"

The old man said "I never thought about that...you ever thought about running for office" :24:

Actually during his speech, I did not look at the screen at all, just listened. You never know with all the nuts in America

I watched the speech live last night and found it to be very moving and consiliatory. If Obama can reach out to other nations the way he has to Americans then I believe the world will be a much better place for having him US President.
