Yep! Despite sending notes along with the tickets allotted to each member of congress stating that it would be cut if sequester cuts went through. Now after a public uproar they are back pedaling and changing their story.

We need to cut everything that is non essential and this would be one example. Instead we have idiots in charge who play on emotions and are beholden to special interests.

These are both very elusive critters in this country. As to the costs, it is underwritten by corporate sponsors. The secret service, despite all the BS they say about them, surely does not lay off any agents at any time. They may reduce the number slightly at a given location but they actually have a lot of other details for them to do. Like investigate threats etc. This only came to light because the tickets were printed with the cancellation threat back when they thought they could pressure congress into folding on the sequester. The shutting down student aid to our military will cost Obama dearly as it is totally unneeded. There is a ton of pork to trim before doing that. Start in congress and cut them down to 2 people per member for their offices. Christ, you would need to have the lobbyists draw numbers like at the deli.
