Nothing Like Getting Your Facts Messed Up

Archie Bunker, played by Carrol O'Conner back in the 70's, was terrific for getting his facts mixed up.

He once stated on the show that a major earthquake was due to hit California, and he was right. However, he said that the major catastrophe was something The Pope discussed years before and that he said it was St. Andrews fault.

The sitcom's name was All In The Family.

And when it was first aired, everybody said they knew at least one person in their lives who was just as ignorant as Archie. I'm no exception. My grandfather was just like him, although he'd never admit it.
