I don't have proof but I have it on good ground that someone got a message in the mail saying that not signing your census was illegal and you could be fined 5,000 dollars...

1. How are they going to know? It was sent as "junkmail" with no unique addressee on the front...
2. How are we supposed to pay them back with the money we don't have? (cmon... im sure more than a few didn't sign it)...

If I recall, there wasn't any place to sign on the census.

However, it states on the cover of the form failure to complete it is a violation of the law.

I don't know if it's illegal or not. I sent mine in last week and today I got a reminder notice from the Census Buero...I'm sure they'll get it eventually. You know the Census helps with programs in everyones area like housing and such. You should really think about filling it out. ;) It only took me but a few minutes of my time. Had nothing better to do anyway.

They sent it to a specific address. Specific addresses have specific owners. Specific owners know who's living in their houses, even if it's a rental.

If you turn yourself in quickly I'm sure they'll go easy on you. :ninja

I can just claim my mail was stolen, i mean its not a stretch.

so did i on accident thinking it was junk mail....oops

its manditory by law to fill it out and i cant get another one...lol

oops...lol
It being mandatory is BS... they address it to Resident. It looks like junk mail. They can't hold you to it. do you think these fools living in Project Housing give a fuck about the Census?

Hmmm, if you were able to read that it was addressed to resident, then I'm pretty sure you were able to read

U.S. Census Form Enclosed
YOUR RESPONSE
IS REQUIRED BY LAW
