Hit & Run > Norman Borlaug: The Man Who Saved More Human Lives Than Any Other Has Died - Reason Magazine

And almost no one knows who he is...

Norman Borlaug, the man who saved more human lives than anyone else in history, has died at age 95. Borlaug was the Father of the Green Revolution, the dramatic improvement in agricultural productivity that swept the globe in the 1960s. For spearheading this achievement, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970

We'll barely see a mention of this in the news while murdering self serving political thugs like Ted Kennedy are virtually beatified. Almost makes my physically sick...

When some asshat like MJ dies, the whole world turns upside down. But most people haven't even heard of Norman, even tough he's one of the most important persons who ever lived..

Why would you expect the media to cover his death? There is nothing in it for them, there is no profit to be had. The American people demand sensationalism in their news, we are not happy with boring stories of wheat production and the people who tinkered in it.
