So today was supposed to be the final day that I am getting blood work. I got it this morning...and thinking i would be in and out wasn't so. Tim and I got little sleep, I woke up with him at 7am didn't eat. Finally through a long wait in traffic I got to the blood place at 9am. Turns out I had to drink a bunch of that glucose sugar stuff with in 5 min. FOR THE SECOND TIME and stay for an hour. I was trying my best to keep it down and not throw it up. Then they take 5 viles out of me....when I left I called tim and tried to keep my words together. With little sleep, nothing in my stomach at all except sugar water and then all that blood taken...not a good thing.

That better be the last time or i'm going to freak...i sincerely don't think that there's any blood left for them to take...I NEED IT ALL!! STAY AWAY VAMPIRES

there are certain tests that they do at certain parts throughout pregnancy. It just seems like I am always there though. There's a long list of tests that they have done on me...a really long list.

I have to back in three weeks for more blood work for at least my thyroid. I get to have it done once a month through the pregnancy and then for a few months after (I think). So not looking forward to it.

Alicia hun did you fail that glucose tolerance test the first time you took it? Is that why you had to retake it? Here is another thing that may help you feel a little better maybe not, I know it looks like alot of blood when they are filling those tubes but honestly hun its only like a teaspoon that goes in there so you really arent losing that much at a time. You know Im a labtech too so you can pm me if you have any questions as to what they are taking you should be done if you pass this part though at least until you go into labor.

no i didn't fail the glucose thing the first time...that's why i was surprised i had to take it again. I have a really big phobia of needles ever since I was in the hospital years back. So when I look at those vials and feel the pain, it just seems like so much to me

The thing that bothers me is when they change vials. Most of the people seem to forget that there's still a needle in you when they pull off one and put on another. This past lady was much better. Which was nice because I think they took nine vials.

hmm they must not have liked it for some reason thats really odd. I maybe would have questioned it that shit is nasty tasting. Did you know they do have a jellybean method for people that cant drink that nasty stuff? yeah I know a little late now

i was able to drink it fine...the only problem was keeping it down on an empty stomach. I think i'll ask my doc the next time i see him why i had to do it again, just for my info.
