Have humans not been burned by playing God before ? I am not sure it is wise to change what nature has done at it's pace.. There are reasons why creatures have certain "Skills and Bodily Functions" and if we tamper with them are we not setting ourselves up for disaster.. Examples of playing God, Killer bees and to the lesser extend Asian Carp and pine beetles to name a few not to mention the piranhas in our lakes that don't belong..

Any thoughts or am I just out of line..

I see no harm in getting rid of mosquitos to be honest. Is there anything that lives solely off mosquitos?

yes, we do always burn ourselves by playing God

I think we should leave even the most needless of critters alone
even the procupines, who ruin my forest and quill my dogs

each of the "needless" critters could have some special DNA we haven't tapped into yet
to play better God roles and cure diseases
